This edition for April 23rd 2018 kicks off with construction updates.
All eyes this week are on the new paved section across from the cast member parking lot. With the removal of some construction fencing, curious visitors will behold new large completed paved areas. Pictured below are semi-trucks delivering metal structures to be utilized in this project. Turning attention to the Stage parking area, paving crews have been observed around the clock diligently working to complete their work. Likewise, the Music section has enough construction walls lowered to reveal multiple parking spaces awaiting the large number of guests anticipated for the Toy Story Land opening and beyond. Guests said goodbye last Monday to Sweet Spells inside Beverly Sunset which has featured goodies for years like whoopie pies and decorated caramel apples. In place of the all-day menu of dessert and treat delights will be an expanded collection of Pixar merchandise. Refurbishment work for this new Toy Story Land shopping area will begin immediately. Guests traveling on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror have a limited opportunity for a special lenticular print photo of their family once they are back on the ground floor at the end of the attraction near the photo desk. For $19.95 during the next 3 months, a guest’s keepsake Tower of Terror photo will provide an illusion of depth or even change and move when viewed from different angles. We see some new construction progress from Toy Story Land this week. Revealed behind construction walls, Hollywood Studios HQ spotted that crews have erected two new lighting fixtures with trees around those fixtures, and as well placed brown colored screening around their scaffolding. In preparation for this motion picture debut in theatres next month, the Park is loading up with all the great Hon Solo gear and other movie themed merchandise to delight fans of all ages. Guests can get select between their own LEGO sets featuring the Millennium Falcon, a TIE fighter as the symbol of the Imperial fleet, and even a land speeder from straight out of the motion picture when shopping at Mickey’s of Hollywood.
