Progress on the Park’s gondola arrival and departure station is clearly visible this week as green colored metal roofing panels are being positioned over the platform. Viewers may notice in the photos below that the color is reminiscent of the original Studios theme green. In addition, worker activity is present in the guest parking areas where steel bollards are rapidly being positioned in the pavement as a protective ring around the base of each of the massive Skyliner towers. From the initial entrance beginning at Osceola Park Way and Victory Lane, all the way to the edge of current guest parking, the future main Park entrance roadway continues to take shape. The three tracks of Toy Story Midway Mania will be off line June 11 through today, while crews complete the final main entrance configuration. Woody and his friends will return tomorrow to once again thrill riders on the midway. The attraction’s entrance will remain in Pixar Place on June 19 until it moves permanently to the new Toy Story Land for the long awaited June 30 grand opening.
The pedestrian sidewalk construction and corresponding guest rerouting earlier reported has expanded from the Path of the Jedi Film near Echo Lake and continuing up to the Backlot Express. During this work, guests must detour to Commissary Lane in to arrive at Star Tours Attraction, Olaf Meet at Celebrity Spotlight and Back Lot Express dining. Click the link below for full coverage.
Once guests return to the ground floor of this attraction, new Hollywood Tower Hotel (HTH) themed clothing and accessories await them. Shoppers can select from a black and white frightened expression Mickey Mouse tee shirt or Tip Top Club tee promoting dancing and dining. New selections also include a novel glow in the dark black and white tee shirt picturing those unfortunate souls at the time of the Hotel’s lightning strike. Guests enthralled with the number 13 have their own themed design shirt featuring a V neck style. A tee shirt highlighting simply the HTH logo as well as a red top complete with a female image highlighted by a large HTH logo earring are also on display. Merchandise shelves include coordinating HTH accessories with handbags and scarfs. Star Wars theme men’s socks are awaiting shoppers at Keystone Clothiers. The selection includes Star Wars characters with images of Chewie, Han Solo, Stormtroopers, or Darth Vader. Stocking choices allow the wearer to align with either the Empire or the Rebel Alliance.
New photos below capture additional work on building exteriors at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. One structure has new purple colored exterior gypsum wall covering installed. Additional work on mountain peaks continues as crews remove rain coverings after a recent summer shower.
