New pedestrian sidewalk improvement work from Echo Lake to the Star Tours attraction has been completed and this main walkway has reopened. There remains minor cement replacement work still in progress near the Echo Lake across from The Oasis refreshment stand. No effect on guest travel and only a minor relocation of the Disney Vacation Club information center. While the new completed sidewalk has restored normal guest movement, the mobile staging that hosts the daily Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away is removed at the end of the day by traveling down Hollywood Blvd to overnight storage until the new sidewalk is cleared for the weight load. Crews have recently erected a new metal structure in a wooded area across from the rear of the existing guest parking lot. This may eventually be serving as vehicle entrance ticket booths along the new entrance roadway. This structure’s visible metal roofing has a design similar to the roof projections of the Park’s existing guest main entrance. Meanwhile construction workers continue making headway on the vehicle overpass supports at the Osceola Parkway and Victory Lane intersection. Click the link below for full coverage.
