State of the Studios Address Week of August 20, 2018 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Crews continue to make progress on and around the Park’s guest loading and unloading skyliner station as captured in the photos below. This week’s focus has been on a platform extension from the main covered structure, as well as a lengthy steel extension coming out of the station. Click the link below for full coverage.

Guests utilizing Disney resort bus transportation to and from the Park will find that the arrival and departure locations for all resorts have relocated to the new bus loading and unloading area. While construction for the permanent Disney resort bus area is still underway, guests will now utilize the recently completed charter bus arrival area. The Jawas returned to Star Wars Launch Bay on August 19, 2018 to delight guests. Two of these mischievous Star Wars characters were present in the Cantina for a photo pass opportunity.

Signs of construction activity are now present surrounding the Chinese Theatre’s front entrance and side guest cue area. Barrier walls are in place as work continues toward the 2019 opening of the new Mickey’s & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction. Click the link below for full coverage.

The popular Reel Vogue store has a refurbished exterior. Crew’s finished this week applying a fresh coat of forest green paint to the structure. This location offering Pixar and other themed merchandise remained open for shoppers during the refurbishment.

Crew activity is visible in the photos below as construction of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge continues. Workers were busy painting terrain surfaces as well as wielding metal fabrication. Scaffolding surrounding towering mountain peaks supported crew members as they continued their work high above the Planet Batuu surface. Click the link below for full coverage.
