State of the Studios Address Week of January 7, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Guests experienced a festive celebration as Hollywood Studios ushered in 2019. Guest were provided complimentary New Years hats and noise makers  on Grand venue in the late afternoon. The Park hosted a live DJ on center stage that entertained late into the evening.

Contractors have been installing electrical within the Skyliner passenger arrival and departure structure. This includes walkway and exit lighting. Likewise, speaker horns are being placed atop gondola cable towers. 

Crews have continued work on the multiple bus terminal structures. Surface cement  finishing, insulation,  and exterior painting are evident in the photos below. Site work includes initial paving of roadways along with planting of additional foliage. Click the link below for full coverage.

The original wagging tails on the popular Slinky Dog Dash Coaster in Toy Story Land have been temporarily removed  for adjustments. Guests will notice two new jumbo bill boards affixed to the rear of the Chinese Theatre promoting recent Disney motion picture releases.

Disney released last evening the 30th Anniversary logo for Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the 2019 year of celebration. The Park originally opened on May 1, 1989. Hollywood Studios HQ will be covering all anniversary events.

Masonry crews were active with work on the yet to be identified  structure  over the New Year’s holiday. This new building is located just outside Tatooine Traders shopper exit.

Crews continue to work on the exterior finish of Planet Batuu structures. A heavy duty crane was moved into position for further work.
